UK minister: Exhibition global recognition of Bahrain’s co-existence record
New York, Sept. 27 (BNA): British Minister for Middle East Affairs, Alistair Burt, has lauded the exhibition organised by "This Is Bahrain", in cooperation with the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence, on the sidelines of the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly, currently held here.
The presence of a Bahraini exhibition in one of the main corridors of the UN is an expressive international recognition of the kingdom’s pioneering experience in tolerance and coexistence, he said, adding that Bahrain’s noble human values are worth promoting in many countries and around the world.
While visiting the exhibition, Mr. Burt stressed that Bahrain boasted a long history in boosting the values of tolerance and peaceful co-existence among various faiths, sects and culture.
I am delighted to see the interaction of many visitors with this remarkable exhibition, and the valuable humanitarian lessons it carries to many countries and communities at the world level, he said.
The British minister affirmed that he had been impressed during his first visit to Bahrain regarding the rapport among the diverse faiths and cultures, which was exceptional at the level of the region and the world, which reflects His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s resolve and determination to promote the values of tolerance and peaceful co-existence among all.
He asserted that holding the Bahrain exhibition at the heart of the UN in New York is a unique opportunity to highlight the multiple bright sides of the distinguished Bahraini identity, which has been known for such great human values throughout history, including peaceful co-existence among diverse religions, long history of tolerance and keenness to continue building on the existing achievements to attain more progress and prosperity for its civilised society.
