Undersecretaries of GCC Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research hold 20th meeting

Manama, Oct. 11 (BNA): The Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the GCC countries held their 20th meeting today, through the Visual Communication Technology (VCT). The meeting was chaired by the UAE Education Ministry Undersecretary for Higher Education Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Mualla. The meeting cast light on the decisions of the Supreme Council, in its 40th session, which are related to higher education in the GCC countries. It also spotlighted the efforts of the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research to combat the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). The meeting also shed light on important issues, most notably the assignment of universities and research centers to allocate academic programmes to study the complementary experience and treating the GCC nationals on equal par in terms of acceptance and treatment at public universities and higher education establishments. The draft strategic plan for cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research in the GCC countries was also discussed. The meeting came up with many recommendations that will be presented in the next meeting of the Committee of Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the GCC countries.
