Undersecretary chairs online introductory meeting

Manama, Aug.12 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, chaired today an online introductory meeting on the Strategic Cooperation and Sustainable Development Framework (2020-2022) between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Nations agencies. Present were Resident Representative for the United Nations Development Program in Bahrain, Stefano Pettinato and the Legal Auditor and Editor of the Cooperation Framework. Dr. Shaikh Abdullah noted that the Kingdom of Bahrain seeks to organize partnership with United Nations agencies and programs in order to strengthen cooperation between the two sides as part of its commitment to implementing the initiatives of the government’s fiscal balance program. He stated that the meeting aimed to review the Strategic Cooperation and Sustainable Development Framework (2020-2022) which was signed in October 2017 between the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and 16 UN agencies, in order to ensure that it continues to keep pace with the Government's Action Plan, Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, and the Sustainable Development Goals. For his part, Legal Auditor and Editor of the Cooperation Framework noted that the modified cooperation framework aims to achieve the strategic priorities of the Kingdom of Bahrain and sustainable development, and will also provide a platform for joint action in the field of developing institutional capacities and coordinating projects.
