Undersecretary for International Affairs meets with EEAS Head of Arabian Peninsula and Iraq Division

Manama, Oct. 26 (BNA): Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, received at the Ministry today the Head of the Arabian Peninsula and Iraq Division at the European Union External Action Service, Anna-Maria PANAGIOTAKOPOULOU, and her accompanying delegation. During the meeting, the Undersecretary for Political Affairs stressed Bahrain’s interest in promoting cooperation and strategic partnership with the European Union. He also expressed the Kingdom’s enthusiasm for hosting the sixth meeting of the Human Rights Working Group with the European Union (tomorrow), in light of the pioneering achievements it is witnessing in respect to human rights and political and civil freedoms, support for the advancement of women and the consolidation of justice and the rule of law. The meeting was also attended by the Chief of Human Rights Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Arwa Hassan Al-Sayed, and the Chief of European Affairs, Ahmed Ebrahim Al-Qarainees, in addition to a number of officials of the Ministry.
