Undersecretary meets UN official

Manama, Dec. 15 (BNA): Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for International Affairs Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa met with Dr. Rima Khalaf, UN Under-Secretary-General, Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), on the sidelines of the 29th- ministerial session, held in Doha, Qatar. Dr. Khalaf thanked the Kingdom of Bahrain for the good management of the previous 28th ESCWA Session which it has been successfully chairing since September 2014. Dr. Shaikh Abdulla praised the success of the 29th ministerial session, taking pride in the existing cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and ESCWA. He stressed Bahrain's keenness on optimising benefits from ESCWA programs and projects in order to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs) in line with the Government work program and economic vision 2030.
