UNICEF, WHO praise Thai government for controlling milk ads for children

BANGKOK, August 10 (TNA) - The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the World Health Organization (WHO) have issued a joint statement to praise the Thai government for approving control and supervising marketing campaigns and advertisements in public health facilities regarding to milk for babies and young children, as well as powdered milk and other food products to substitute breast milk. Both of the UN agencies pointed out that the Thai Cabinet's resolution on August 7 is the first and important step to protect the best period of life for all children in Thailand.(TNA)
