UPSI To Hold Asia Pacific Educational Managemen, Leadership Conference

IPOH (Perak, Malaysia), July 28 (Bernama) -- The role of leaders and challenges faced in the education field are among issues to be discussed at the two-day third Asia Pacific Conference on Educational Management and Leadership (APCEMaL) 2017. Organised by public university Sultan Idris Education University (Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris – UPSI) on Aug 1 and 2, the conference themed ‘The Changing Role of Educational Leaders’ will be held at the university’s Sultan Abdul Jalil Shah Campus in Tanjung Malim, about 150 kilometres from Ipoh. It will gather 116 presenters and participants including from Indonesia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the Philippines. Organising Committee chairman, Prof Dr Omar Abdull Kareem said the conference would serve as a platform for the sharing of knowledge, research and publications among the academicians and practitioners in the education leadership and management fields at the regional and international levels. “The conference will summarise opinions and suggestions to serve as guidelines for educational leaders and managers in striving for excellence of their respective organisations,” he said in a statement Friday. Omar said the conference would feature UPSI Board of Directors member, Prof Emeritus Dr Ibrahim Ahmad Bajunid; UPSI vice-chancellor, Prof Dr Mohammad Shatar Sabran and the Education Ministry’s director-general, Dr Amin Senin. The conference will be opened by UPSI Board of Directors chairman, Dr Wan Mohd Zahid Mohd Nordin. -- BERNAMA
