US Ambassador highlights long-standing Bahrain-US relations

Manama, Oct. 19 (BNA): US Ambassador to Bahrain William V. Roebuck has highlighted the Bahrain-US commercial relations, saying they dated back 120 years. In a speech to the American Chamber of Commerce, Roebuck launched the US Embassy’s 2016 Discover America Week programming, highlighting the schedule of events and urging all attendees to participate in the festivities. “This year’s Discover America programming has been designed to highlight the long history of America’s commercial relationship with Bahrain, which dates back 120 years to the founding of American Mission Hospital,” the ambassador said during the monthly luncheon. Roebuck used his speech to underscore “the enduring presence of some American companies in Bahrain, as well as the incredible variety of new entrants into the market.” Discover America Week, celebrated in Bahrain and in several other countries in the region, runs from October 18 through October 26.
