US Envoy praises Bahrain's efforts to face Iran's policies

Manama, Dec. 2 (BNA): U.S. Special Representative for Iran, Brian Hook, has praised the continuous partnership between Bahrain and the USA, and commended the tremendous efforts exerted by the Kingdom to expose the malicious activities of the Iranian regime in the region. Speaking during a press conference in which he displayed Iran-made weapons that are used to distabilise the region and the world, Hook stressed that Bahrain exerts tremendous efforts to face extremism and terrorism through which the Iranian regime seeks to subvert the stability of the kingdom and the region. The US Envoy’s statements come at a time when Bahrain succeeded, through its ongoing security efforts, in countering many interference attempts by Iran and in thwarting the Iran-backed schemes in recent years. He said that there is a range of Iran-made weapons, such as sniper weapons, explosives, RPGs and others, that had been supplied to the USA by the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that Iran had provided these weapons to extremist groups with the aim of carrying out terrorist attacks targeting Bahrain. Hook extended sincere thanks to the Foreign Affairs Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, for his full commitment to uncovering Iran’s malevolent activities.  The US Envoy highlighted the Iranian regime’s approach in distabilising the region, whose countries, he said, have suffered a lot from such a regime over the past years, which should be faced openly, he stressed. Hook lauded the efforts of the Bahraini Embassy in Washington, and its constant cooperation with the US Administration, stressing that his country backs Bahrain and appreciates its efforts in dealing with extremist groups, and affirming that cooperation between the two countries is essential in achieving security and stability in the region. "The United States stands with Bahrain to preserve its national sovereignty, and we will continue to work with Bahrain to stop supplying weapons to extremist groups in the region," Hook said. The press conference shed light on Iran’s blatant interference in the internal affairs of the countries of the region, and confirmed the vital role Bahrain plays, in cooperation with the International Community, to expose the Iranian regime’s malicious activities and destructive policies aimed at subverting regional and global security and stability.
