US Independence Day celebrated in Thailand
BANGKOK, July 4 (TNA) - The US Embassy to Thailand celebrates the 238th anniversary of the United States' Independence on July 4, 2014.
US Ambassador to Thailand Kristie A. Kenney welcomed invited guests from several sectors, including political figures, senior government and independent bodies' officials, business operators, academics, activists and journalists, gathering to celebrate the 238th Independence Anniversary of the United States at a reception held at the Conrad Hotel in Bangkok on Thursday evening.
Among other activities, the ceremony included the singing of the Royal Anthem of Thailand and a loyal toast for His Majesty King Bhumibol Aduljadej, led by the US ambassador herself, before all the guests were invited to sing the US National Anthem and have a toast for US President Barack Obama.
On the occasion, the US top envoy confirmed to journalists steady relations between the United States and Thailand, even after the Thai army-led National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has taken the national administrative power since May 22, 2014, especially in education, environment and culture.
The US ambassador also boosted morale and expressed her support to all parties in Thailand to work together in order to drive the Kingdom ahead toward democracy with full public participation. (TNA)
