Uthai Thani holds alcohol-free Songkran celebration

UTHAI THANI, April 9 (TNA) - Uthai Thani is scheduled to hold alcohol-free Thai New Year celebration, with a 30-metre fountain to be installed in a water playing zone. The Muang Uthai Thani municipality is prepared to host Songkran festival from April 13-17. A Buddha image bathing rite will be held at the town center, which will be decorated in the old Thai style atmosphere. The water playing zone is designated at the Suphannika plaza and on a road in front of the city hall to Sakaekrang plaza, where a 30 –metre fountain tunnel will be installed for revellers. The province also promotes the Songkran celebration without alcohol consumption and safe water playing among locals and tourists. (TNA)
