Vasit Dejkunchorn died at the age of 88
BANGKOK, June 21 (TNA) -- Pol Gen Vasit Dejkunchorn passed away at the Police General Hospital late Wednesday night (June 20) after previously being admitted for liver cancer.
He was pronounced dead at 10.30pm at the age of 88 years old.
His last position was the chairman of the Anti-Corruption Organisation of Thailand Foundation. Earlier he was the head of the Office of Royal Court Security Office, a deputy national police commissioner and a deputy interior minister.
Pol Gen Vasit wrote well-known novels about the police and crime. They were based on his experiences in the police service. His pseudonym was "Ko Bangkok". Many of his novels were transformed into films and TV series.
He was recognised as a national artist on literature in 1998. (TNA)
