Verdict Enforcement Director-General receives NICO Justice Advisor

Manama, Sept. 18 (BNA): Interior Ministry’s Director-General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa received Justice Advisor at Northern Ireland Cooperation Overseas (NICO) Paula Jack. The director-general highlighted the directorate's role in expanding the implementation of the alternative sanctions, measures law, and the commencement of the open prison program to promote human rights according to the royal directives. The meeting discussed the latest developments in implementing the law, rehabilitation, and training programs. The two sides reviewed topics of common interest to reinforce human rights and benefit from British alternative penalties expertise. The UK officials thanked the directorate's role in promoting the law, including increasing the number of the law's beneficiaries.
