W Java Administration Promotes Ciletuh Geopark At E Asia Congres

BANDUNG, W. Java, Nov 8 (Antara) - The provincial administration of West Java is promoting Ciletuh Geopark as a world tourist destination at the two-day 7th East Asia Local and Regional Government Congress which began in Japan on November 7, 2016. The participation of the province which represents Indonesia is an honor and indicates that West Java is being considered in the international arena, West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan said in a press release received by Antara here Monday. Some 68 heads of provincial administrations from East Asia countries, including China, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippine, South Korea, Vietnam and Japan, are participating in the congress. The event is being held in Nara prefecture, Head of Regional Autonomy and Cooperation Bureau of West Java Taufiq Budi Santoso said. Japanese Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications and Minister of Foreign Affairs as well as International Relations Division from each province in Japan are attending the congress. The congress will discuss three themes namely community and regional development, agriculture and regional economic development, and promotion of measures against the declining birthrate. Governor Ahmad Heryawan will have a bilateral meeting with Shizouka prefecture governor Heita Kawakatsu to discuss the possibility of making West Java a sister province of Shizouka, Taufiq said. In addition to West Java, Yogyakarta province is also another Indonesian representative at the congress.
