Warm Greeting of Lebanese Made Malbatt 850-4 Personnel Feel Safe - Reizal

From Muhammad Afiq Mohd Asri BEIRUT, Sept 21 (Bernama) -- "I will always remember the waves and smiles of the Lebanese here who received us with open arms,” said the Commander of Malbatt 850-4, Col Reizel Ismail at the completion of the peace mission Wednesday since it began on Sept 14 last year. He said the warm welcome of the people made the team felt safe as they patrolled in the affected areas of Lebanon including sensitive districts. “Our Malbatt 850-4 team never face anything out-of-the ordinary or aggression from the people when we monitored their towns. “Before this, some Malbatt teams from other countries encountered aggressive acts but the Malaysian and Brunei approach was friendly and we always felt protected, and this made our jobs easier,” he told Bernama after the handing-over of authority to the Commander of Malbatt 850-5, here Wednesday. He said the friendliness of the Lebanonese was not normal as some of the people were aggressive. Reizal said the Malbatt 850-4 team was excellent and made him proud. The Malbatt 850-4 team with its 850 officers and staff including two officers and 28 members of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) were mobilised in stages on Sept 14, 20 and 26 last year. All are scheduled to return on Sept 25. (photoBERNAMA) -- BERNAMA
