Ways to enhance Bahrain, EU cultural partnership discussed

Manama, July 12 (BNA): President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, today received the Political Officer at the European Union (EU) Delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman, Angelos Lenos. The visit, the first to be carried out by Angelos Lenos to the kingdom, aims to discuss the Bahraini-EU cultural cooperation. The two sides discussed ways to strengthen the cultural partnership between Bahrain and the EU, especially regarding the support for young artists and holding conferences and shows that reflect the crucial role played by cultures in building peace and fostering the value of harmony and coo-existence. They also agreed on the importance of international rapprochement and cultural diplomacy in creating better relations among countries. Shaikha Mai highlighted BACA’s upcoming events, including the opening of the annual Fine Arts Exhibition, set to begin this week, in addition to various cultural seasons, and the heritage sites and museums that stand witness to Bahrain’s rich history. Angelos Lenos welcomed working with BACA, given its role in embodying Bahrain’s identity through its activities and cultural seasons.
