Wild Boars, rescuers heading for party in Bangkok
CHIANG RAI, Sept 5 (TNA) – Twelve young footballers of the local Moo Paa (Wild Boars) football club and those who rescued them from Chiang Rai’s Tham Luang cave will leave for Bangkok for a thank-you party that the government will organize at the Royal Plaza tomorrow.
Chiang Rai’s land transport chief Satawan Manokhrueang led transport officials to check the readiness of 72 buses and their drivers who would bring the people from Chiang Rai to Bangkok tonight.
The buses to be escorted by police and military vehicles will transport about 3,000 people including the boys, their families and rescuers.
Mr Satawan said checks on drivers and buses confirmed their readiness and Chiang Rai governor Prachon Pratsakul would launch the motorcades of the buses at the second Chiang Rai bus terminal at 9.30pm.
The motorcades would be launched at 30-minute intervals, he said.
The government will hold the party to extend gratitude towards all people involved in the rescue of the young footballer and their coach from the partially flooded Tham Luang cave from June 23 to July 11. (TNA)
