Work on King Hamad Causeway expected to start in 2021

Jeddah, Sept. 17 (BNA): The execution of King Hamad Causeway connecting Saudi Arabia and Bahrain will start by mid-2021 and will be completed in three years, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Bahrain has said. “The tender for the King Hamad Causeway will be launched after six months,” Abdullah Al Shaikh said, Saudi daily Arab News reported. The causeway will include a rail line for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) network, cargo trains and vehicle lanes. Al Shaikh estimated that the cost of the project ranges between 3 and $4 billion, adding that it will act as a new link between the two countries and will contribute to boosting trade in all fields.
