Works Minister hails national competences

Manama, Mar. 13(BNA): Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf received Dr. Suha Ahmed Al-Sayyed Gharib, who won the GCC Best Vet Award, held by the Saudi Veterinary and Medical Association at the King Faisal University. The laureate is vet lab specialist at the Animal Resources Agency , which is affiliated with the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning. Undersecretary for Animal Resources Dr. Khalid Ahmed and Animal Resources director Dr. Ibrahim Youssef attended. The minister stressed the importance of human resources which, he said represent a cornerstone of the National Strategy for Food Security, hailing Bahraini competences in all fields, including the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning. The minister expressed support to national competences which are sparing no efforts to implement the Government’s policies and develop all sectors as part of the food security strategy. Undersecretary for Animal Resources Dr. Khalid Ahmed also congratulated Dr. Gharib on this honourable achievement, stressing the ministry’s resolve to continue supporting competences. Dr. Gharib thanked the minister, undersecretary and all the staff at the Animal Resources Directorate for their support. Dr. Gharib is holder of a Bachelor’s degree in veterinary medical science, and a higher diploma in health food control. She works on preparing a master’s degree in veterinary medicine specialising in food and meat.
