Works minister receives Malaysian ambassador

Manama, Jan. 14 (BNA): Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister received the Malaysian Ambassador to Bahrain, Ahmad Shahizan Abd Samad. The minister reviewed with the envoys areas of cooperation between the two countries, praising the steady progress of bilateral relations. He lauded the advanced level of the Malaysian expertise in the field of works and construction, highlighting the Ministry’s desire to avail of Malaysian expertise in various fields. The Works Ministry signed a memorandum of understanding with Malaysia’s SIRIM Berhad to bolster joint cooperation in many fields, including quality assurance, standards and specifications, as well as training and engineering consultations. The minister explained that the Works Minister signed the MoU to develop the construction industry in the kingdom and improve the performance and efficiency in all projects. The Malaysian Ambassador expressed delight over the steady growth of bilateral cooperation, lauding the efforts of the Works Ministry to modernise the kingdom’s infrastructure. He also hailed the progress boom witnessed by Bahrain in various fields.
