Works selected for Iranian art festival in Toronto

TEHRAN,Aug.30(MNA) -- Works by 40 Iranian artists have been selected for the Flying Colors exhibit, which will be held at Toronto’s Queen Gallery from October 19 to 31.
The exhibition has been arranged by the organizers of the Six Weeks of Iranian Arts Festival’s exhibition, which will open at Toronto’s Queen Gallery on September 21.
The works were selected by a jury composed of art critics Julie Oakes, Marcel Jerou and five artists.
Paintings by Ali Soltani, Amir Alizadeh, Parisa Shad, Shiva Sadeq-Asadi, Farshid Shafiei, Leila Rezvani, Sudabeh Zolfaqari and several other artists have been picked for the show.
The exhibit will also display sculptures by Mahsa Karimizadeh, Mahbubeh Hosseini-Musa, Golnaz Moqaddam and several other sculptors.
In addition, photos by Amin Shafiei, Emad Anushiravani, Farid Sani, Ali Saadatmand, Morteza Teymuri and Hadi Dehqanpur and some other photographers will put on display at the exhibit.
Winners will be announced by a jury composed of art critic Julie Oakes, festival secretary Puyan Tabatabaei and festival artistic director Mahrokh Ahankhah.
The festival also includes four musical performances and screenings of a selection of the best Iranian short films and documentaries.
