WWII soldier’s grave found
Pavlodar, January 14, 2010 (Khabar) - A grave of one more Pavlodar soldier who died on the front of the Second World War has been found. Private Bek-Bau Kudarov has been reported as being missing for all these years. Active members of “Zhas Otan” youth movement helped his son find the place of his father’s grave. The only photograph which portrays Kuatbek Kudarov’s parents was taken shortly before the war. The head of the family left for the war front amongst the first volunteers and was reported missing in Autumn 1942. The boy lost his mother the same year. Later, he made vain attempts to find his father’s grave.
Kuatbek Kudarov, Pavlodar resident:
- I found the place where he was buried. There are a lot graves of unknown soldiers and now I know where his grave is. I’m overwhelmed right now.
Boris Polamarchuk, active member of “Zhas Otan” youth movement:
- This is worth a lot therefore it is worth searching. We’ve seen tears in his eyes today. It was very touching despite the fact that we didn’t know this person. However, he defended us and our future for the sake of our lives and our homeland’s prosperity.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry’s Central Records Office, private Bek-Bau Kudarov died during the defence of Stalingrad and was buried in a mass grave near the “Kuzmichi” village. His number is 31. All in all, there are the remains of 220 soldiers and officers at this burial site. During recent years, Pavlodar search squads have helped find the remains of 5 Kazakh soldiers. They have requested private Sary Dzhumadilov’s relatives to respond. He was born in the Beskaragay district and died during the defence of Stalingrad just like Bek-Bau Kudarov and was buried in the same mass grave.
Boris Polamarchuk, active member of “Zhas Otan” youth movement:
- Hopefully, we will have more success in our search for the fallen in the future to make a great number of people who don’t know what happened to their relatives finally obtain some information. Their satisfaction will be the best reward for us.
