Astana, December 22, 2009 (Khabar) - The regular meeting of National commission on women’s affairs and family-demographical policy under the President of RK took place in Astana. Representatives of ministries and departments, NGOs and the media discussed the development of female entrepreneurship, observing of gender equality and the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women. Invited experts from the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning, the General Prosecutor's Office and the Agency for Public Service presented their reports on this topic. The website of National Commission website was presented during the meeting. Portal was created in conjunction with the UN Development Program in Kazakhstan. It contains information about the activities of the committee, here you can also find the texts of laws and international treaties to protect the rights of women and children.

Gulshara Abdykalikova, chairman of the National Commission for Women's Affairs, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population of RK:
- One of the obligatory conditions of a democratic open society is providing with free public access to information in any existing form, this is requirement of time and it corresponds to the rate of comprehensive modernization of the state and society, led by the President Nazarbayev. We proceeded from this while creating the site.

The meeting participants summed up the republican contest of billboards promoting the idea of gender equality. Irina Gorkovenko from Kokshetau became a winner, she is author of a photo “Succession”.
