Young poets dedicate poems to “Kazak Yeli” complex
Semei, October 29, 2009 (Khabar) - Young poets from the Eastern Kazakhstan region which is the great Abai’s birthplace reacted to the opening of the “Kazakh yeli” architectural sculpture complex in their own manner. The unique establishment inspired the young to write poems. The “Aksunkar” poets’ school opened in the Karaul city’s sixth-form college 10 years ago. It is headed by the poet and writer Tolegen Zhangaliyev.
Tolegen Zhangaliyev, member of Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan, head of poets’ school:
- When I came to school and told children about “Kazakh Yeli”, it turned out that they saw it themselves and some of them managed to write poems about it. Children have a different perception and they are upright, so their description is honest and whole-hearted.
20 children are learning the art of poetry here. Balnur Manatbekova is one of them. She is the descendent of Takezhan, the brother of Abai.
Novice poets have written poems about peach and stability in Kazakhstan where representatives of more than 130 ethnic groups are residing cohesively.
