Young Spectator’s Theatre opens new season in Astana
Astana, September 14 2009, Khabar – The capital Young Spectator’s Theatre has opened a new theatrical season. A modern interpretation of “The Government Inspector” by Gogol was staged at the Palace of Peace and Accord, which has become the theatre’s permanent residence.
Nurkanat Zhakypbay, play’s chief director, honoured worker of Kazakhstan:
- This is a necessary stage play. I believe it is very topical and situations which once occurred are repeated to this day. It is sad and difficult, yet true.
Long monologues in the performance were translated into the language of music and calisthenics.
Dauren Sergazi, actor, Khlestakov part:
- It was very difficult to implement it technically as it was necessary to sing, somersault, jump and talk. And of course, every role is hard work in the first place.
The new season happened to open with a moving in for the theatre itself as the cast was permitted to work on the stage of the Palace of Peace and Accord.
Kadina Agimbayeva, spectator:
- The theatre has found its place at last and now it has a new stage and dressing room. In my opinion, they will be able to stage more performances here and make us and our capital’s guests happy.
