Youth anti-corruption forum in Kostanai
Kostanai, November 12, 2009 (Khabar) - At an anti-corruption forum in Kostanai, the deputy chairman of the “Nur Otan” party, Darkhan Kaletaev has announced that Kazakhstan has to improve its anti-corruption legislation. Kazakhstan was the first country in CIS that adopted the Law “On corruption fighting”.
Darkhan Kaletaev, deputy chairman of the “Nur Otan” National Democratic Party:
- In my opinion, certain experience has been accumulated to date along with a number of those problems which we have managed to examine recently. So, now we can introduce certain suggestions to Parliament concerning the improvement of anti-corruption work in our society.
According to the head of the youth section, its main task is to collect unconventional ideas as much as possible. Yekaterina Smyshlyayeva believes that it is necessary to foster civic intolerance towards corruption in young people.

- We’ve defined a number of areas and technologies which we use in our work. For example, we under-use the Internet segment, mobile digital resources and text message distribution today.
Over 9 months, the level of corruption crimes has decreased by almost a half in the region. The party’s local affiliate has examined 150 complaints by citizens over this period of time.
