Zainal first Arab Speaker to participate in Korean National Assembly session

Seoul, Sept. 1 (BNA): Council of Representatives Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal has become the first Arab Speaker to attend a session of the Korean National Assembly. Korea's National Assembly Speaker Park Byeong-seu said that he fully appreciated Zainal's historic participation. He also praised the strengthening of the relations between Bahrain and Korea with the support of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and President Moon Jae-in. Zainal is heading a parliamentary delegation on a visit to Korea where a series of high-level meetings and a Memorandum of Understanding have given an impetus to ties and cooperation across several areas between the two countries and to the drive to consolidate security and peace in the region. The two sides also stressed the importance of building on mutual visits to strengthen strategic partnerships and opportunities, benefit from mutual experiences and expertise and support investments and digital and technical transformation.
