Zayed Giving provides medical treatment for children and elderly in Zanzibar

ABU DHABI, 13th April, 2017 (WAM) -- The Zayed Giving Initiative has concluded its diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical and preventive missions after treating more than 4,000 children and elderly at the Emirates Mobile Field Hospital in Zanzibar, under the supervision of the UAE-Tanzanian volunteer medical team. The voluntary medical missions were organised by a joint initiative of the Zayed Giving Initiative, Dar Al Ber Association, Sharjah Charity House, the Saudi-German Hospital and Emirates Volunteer Centre in co-ordination with Tanzanian Ministry of Health and the UAE Embassy in Tanzania. The campaign also falls in line with the "Year of Giving" initiative, as per the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Dr. Adel Al Shamri, CEO of Zayed Giving Initiative and Chairman of the UAE Societal and Specialised Volunteering Programme, who also leads the Emirati Doctors, said that the Emirates Mobile Field Hospital in Zanzibar was able to provide free medical treatment to more than 4,000 children and elderly. Part of the plan included reaching out to various Tanzanian villages to reflect a message of love from the Emiratis to the population in Zanzibar. Beneficiaries extended thanks and appreciation to the UAE and Emiratis for their support in launching humanitarian initiatives to ease the suffering of underprivileged patients, children and elderly. http://wam.ae/en/details/1395302608333
