Haditha Customs Thwarts Two Attempts to Smuggle more than 450,000 Captagon Pills

Riyadh, June 09, 2023, SPA -- The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has foiled two attempts to smuggle 466,326 Captagon pills, found hidden in trucks that arrived in the Kingdom through the Haditha port.
The authority stated that, in the first attempt, it was able to thwart the smuggling of 365,166 Captagon pills, which were found hidden in one of the trucks coming through the port, while the second case included an attempt to smuggle 101,160 Captagon pills, found hidden in another vehicle coming through the port.
The authority said that after completing the seizure operations, coordination took place with the General Directorate for Narcotics Control which resulted in the arrest of two culprits involved in the smuggling attempt inside the Kingdom.
ZATCA said that it spares no effort to tighten its grip over the Kingdom's imports and exports. The Authority vows to ever be vigilant against any smuggling attempts to realize its goal of strengthening security and protecting society against these harmful substances and other contraband.
The Authority has called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling to protect society and the national economy by reaching out to the designated number for security reports (1910) or via e-mail 1910@zatca.gov.sa or the international number (00966114208417), where the Authority, through these channels, receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the provisions of the unified customs system, in strict confidentiality, with a financial reward given to the whistleblower if the information is correct.
