HEC Secretary-General participates in QS Summit

Kuwait, Mar. 22 (BNA): Higher Education Council (HEC) Secretary-General and Vice Chairperson of its Board of Trustees Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa participated in the hybrid QS Higher Ed Summit: Middle East & Africa, organized by QS International in cooperation with the American University of the Middle East in Kuwait.

The forum discussed the challenges facing various fields of education and ways to address them.

The secretary-general highlighted the importance of developing the higher education sector and strengthening the higher education institutions in the Middle East and North Africa region.

During her speech at the opening of the forum, she reviewed the most prominent local achievements made by higher education institutions in the Kingdom during the past two years.

Dr. Shaikha Rana stressed the importance of strengthening regional partnership, and pointed out that HEC has organized a workshop last October with the participation of QS and higher education institutions.

The workshop aimed to improve the international classification of Bahraini universities after three higher education institutions obtained a classification advanced.

She also praised the summit and wished the participants further success in the higher education field.
