Industry Minister meets with GCC Standardization Organisation Chairman

Manama, Feb. 20 (BNA): Minister of Industry and Commerce Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro stressed Bahrain’s keenness to boost partnership with the GCC Standardization Organisation and the national standardization agencies in the GCC countries.

This came during a meeting today with Chairman of the GCC Standardization Organisation Saud bin Nasser Al-Khesibi and his accompanying delegation. The meeting was held in the presence of Ministry of Industry and Commerce Undersecretary Imen Ahmed Al-Doseri and Assistant Undersecretary for Local and Foreign Trade Shaikh Hamad bin Salman Al Khalifa. Discussions focused on issues of mutual interest.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce pointed out the gains and advantages of cooperation in various standardization fields which aims to support the GCC economy by ensuring imported and exported products meet the technical requirements and smart conformity assessment procedures aimed at preserving human health and safety, protecting the environment, and facilitating bilateral trade procedures between the GCC countries.
