Internet Seminar Observes DPRK's Birthday
Pyongyang, September 24 (KCNA) -- An international on-line seminar "Juche Korea-75 years for defending independence, justice and peace" for celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) took place in Jakarta, Indonesia from September 9 to 15 under the sponsorship of the Organizing Committee of the International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu.
Attending the seminar directly or through video-conferencing were personages of the festival organizing committee and friendship and solidarity organizations of more than 50 countries.
Personages of political parties and public organizations, members of organizations for the study of the Juche idea and others in Asian, African, European and Latin American countries sent more than 110 congratulatory letters, videos and speeches to the seminar.
Damian Ogbonna, co-chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu and concurrently chairman of the African Regional Committee for Friendship and Solidarity with the Korean People, C. P. Mainali, chairman of the Nepal-Korea Friendship Association who doubles as vice-chairman of the organizing committee, and Raymond Ferguson, secretary general of the Australia-DPRK Association for Friendship and Culture who is member of the secretariat of the organizing committee, made congratulatory speeches.
Speakers said that the 75-year-long history of the DPRK is the proud one in which the Korean people have defended the sovereignty and dignity of the country and ushered in the era of prosperity under the outstanding leadership of the peerlessly great men, adding that the exploits of President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and His Excellency Kim Jong Un recorded in the glorious history of the DPRK serve as great assets not only for the Korean people but also for all mankind. The DPRK will write another 75-year-long history of independence, they added.
Madav Kumar Nepal, chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (United Socialism) who is co-chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, made a keynote report to be followed by speeches.
A message of greeting to the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un was adopted at the seminar. -0-
