Iranian movie wins main prize at Spirit of Fire film festival in Russia’s Khanty-Mansiysk
KHANTY-MANSIYSK, March 7. /TASS/. Iranian film director Shahram Ebrahimi's Parallax won the Golden Taiga, the main prize of the Spirit of Fire International Debut Film Festival in Russia’s Khanty-Mansiysk, a TASS correspondent reported.
The award was presented by renowned Russian film director Pavel Lungin, the chairman of the international competition jury. "We were deeply touched by the profound humanism of the movies that we saw. Humane cinema lives on in these debut films," he pointed out.
The Silver Taiga award went to Indian film director Parth Saurabh's On Either Side of The Pond and Far Away Eyes by Wang Chun-Hong from Taiwan (China) received the Bronze Taiga.
The 21st Spirit of Fire International Debut Film Festival took place in the Russian city of Khanty-Mansiysk on March 3-6. Seven movies representing Russia, Japan, France, Argentina, India, Taiwan (China) and Iran were included in the festival’s international program.
