Iraq And Iran Discuss Preparations For The Arbaeen Visit And Securing The Common Borders

 Baghdad / NINA / - The Minister of Interior, Abd al-Amir al-Shammari, and his Iranian counterpart, Ahmed Wahidi, held a meeting today, Monday, at al-Munthiriya border crossing in Khanaqin district of Diyala Governorate.

The two sides discussed securing the Iraqi-Iranian border and the ongoing preparations to open the crossing to Iranian pilgrims during the Arbaeen visit of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.

The meeting was attended by the Iranian ambassador in Baghdad, the governor of Kermanshah, the commander of the border forces and a number of security leaders. / End
