Iraq And Pakistan Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation And Granting Visas To Pakistani Visitors
Baghdad / NINA / - The Iraqi Ambassador to Islamabad, Hamid Abbas Lafta, met with the Pakistani Minister of Interior, Rana Sanaullah Khan, in the building of the Pakistani Ministry of Interior.
During the meeting, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ambassador presented an invitation addressed by Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari to his Pakistani counterpart to visit Iraq to hold a number of meetings and discussions that enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides discussed the proposed topics that will be discussed during the upcoming visit, foremost of which are the facilities for granting visas to Pakistani visitors, and enhancing ways of cooperation between the two ministries in the field of combating drugs and human trafficking.
The ambassador stressed that the Iraqi government is doing its best to provide all possible facilities to visitors from all over the world and pays great attention to Pakistani visitors in particular, and that the Iraqi embassy in Islamabad has spared no effort in completing the procedures for granting the necessary visas to Pakistani visitors as quickly and easily as possible, indicating that About 200,000 Pakistani visitors visit Iraq every year.
For his part, the Pakistani Minister of Interior affirmed that his country attaches special importance to relations with Iraq, and that the deep fraternal relations between Pakistan and Iraq are based on the foundations of religion and common values./ End
