Japan Calls for Iran's Constructive Response over Ukraine

Tokyo, Aug. 7 (Jiji Press)--Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi on Monday urged Iran to give a constructive response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Hayashi made the comments at a meeting in Tokyo with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, apparently referring to Tehran's alleged military aid to Moscow. The Japanese minister also expressed his grave concern over Iran's nuclear-related activities. Amir-Abdollahian said that his country is seeking to revive the 2015 nuclear deal through negotiations. In a separate meeting with Amir-Abdollahian, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida called for Iran's efforts to revive the nuclear deal. END
