King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence achievements praised by ICO

Manama, July 16 (BNA): Shaikh Khalifa bin Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Board of Trustees Chairman of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence met a delegation from the International Communities Organization (ICO) where they discussed ways of cooperation between the Center and the ICO.
Shaikh Khalifa said that tolerance and peaceful coexistence form the basis for interactions between different cultures in Bahrain.
This contributes to creating a strong sense of harmony and integration that drives joint national action and development, Shaikh Khalifa added.
He highlighted that Bahrain’s policies and regulations ensured the freedom of religious practice for everyone, within a framework of respecting differences and deterring hatred and exclusion.
The ICO delegation expressed its appreciation for the efforts made by Bahrain to promote tolerance, coexistence, and peace, represented in the programmes, initiatives, and policies approved by Bahrain in this regard.
The delegation praised the achievements made by the centre which reflects a positive image of Bahrain and its people as well as the keenness of the government to maintain social harmony.
It is noteworthy that the International Communities Organization (ICO) was established in 2016 in the United Kingdom as an independent and impartial organization dedicated to protecting the rights of minorities and addressing human rights issues and freedoms in the world.
