King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence receives US Rabbinic Coalition delegation

Manama, June 26 (BNA): Shaikh Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, received a high-level delegation from the US-based Rabbinic Coalition, headed by Rabbi Stuart Weinblatt.

Shaikh Khalifa highlighted the distinctive traits that distinguish Bahrain as a hub for cultural, religious, and ethnic diversity, noting that these principles were consolidated by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa by fostering the values of acceptance, openness and promoting social awareness.

He noted that "The Kingdom of Bahrain Declaration" reflects HM’s approach to promoting coexistence, peace and tolerance and counter extremism and terrorism in the world.

Shaikh Khalifa said that the centre has launched programs that implement the royal vision in creating the elements of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, which is of great importance in building a strong infrastructure, cohesion and economic prosperity of society.

The chairman accompanied the delegation on a tour of the photo gallery, which presents historical pictures of the homogeneity of Bahraini society with all its sects, and the role of the Jewish community in economic and social development.

The delegation of 15 Jewish rabbis expressed their admiration for Bahrain's efforts, under the leadership of HM King, in spreading principles of peace and coexistence.
