Azerbaijani population reaches 9.356 million

Baku, January 21 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s population has reached 9.356 million people, the State Statistics Committee has said. The country`s population increased 121,400 (1.3 per cent) people in 2012. Most of the population, 52.9 percent, live in cities, while 47.1 per cent live in rural areas. The number of women is still higher than men standing at 50.4 percent, and 1,000 men account for 1,016 women. Youth makes up 30.3 per cent of the country`s population.
