Convergence obvious in Tajikistan-Iran art, culture: Iranian min.

Tehran, IRNA – The close cultural and artistic relationship between Tajikistan and Iran is fully noticeable in art and culture of the Central Asian country, an Iranian minister said. Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaili, the minister of culture and Islamic guidance, made the remarks on Tuesday when he was visiting historical and cultural monuments in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. Esmaili signed the memorial notebook of the Independence Monument in the Capital of Tajikistan, saying that when he became more familiar with the history and culture of the country, he reached the view that there is a clear cultural and artistic convergence between the two countries. The Iranian minister appreciated Tajik artists and cultural figures, wishing for more progress for the government and the people of the Central Asian country. Some Tajik officials as well as Iran’s ambassador to Dushanbe and deputies of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance accompanied Esmaili on the visit. The Iranian minister pays a visit to Tajikistan on Sunday in order to take part in the opening ceremony of the Iran Cultural Week. He is scheduled to participate in the opening ceremony on Tuesday, and then, attend a poetry night event in the presence of some Persian language figures from both countries. The Cultural Week of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been organized by the Islamic Culture and Communication Organization with participation of 51 artists active in different artistic fields such as calligraphy, painting, and music.
