COVID-19: Kyrgyz citizens airlifted from Belarus

Bishkek, Aug. 3, 2020 /Kabar/. A plane of Avia Traffic Company on the Minsk-Belarus route with 137 Kyrgyz citizens on board has arrived Monday in Kyrgyzstan from Belarus, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported. This charter flight was performed in accordance with the instruction of President and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic as part of the ongoing work on the return of Kyrgyz citizens, located in foreign countries because of temporary closure of borders and the suspension of international passenger air traffic due to the spread of coronavirus pandemic in the world. The list of passengers was formed by the Embassies of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine in cooperation with foreign institutions of Kyrgyzstan in European countries in order to return to Kyrgyzstan citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic from European countries. In particular, the flight returned Kyrgyz citizens, including students from Ukraine, Belarus, Austria, Finland, Germany, Lithuania, Italy, Poland, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The passenger list was compiled according to applications previously submitted to the foreign institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic in Europe. The work on the return of Kyrgyz citizens who are in foreign countries and wish to return to their homeland continues.
