In Heartfelt Message, Palestinian PhD Candidate Voices Support For M'sian Frontliners

KUALA LUMPUR, March 27 (Bernama) -- A Palestinian PhD candidate studying at Universiti Malaya voiced his support for the Malaysian frontliners, saying that it is high time they are recognised and embraced as real heroes. “Our battle with COVID-19 depends on our resilience and collective fight,” said Belal Alakhras, when referring to the sacrifices made by Malaysian frontliners who worked round the clock to stem the COVID-19 spread. He expressed his sincere appreciation towards medical staff, police and army personnel, media staff and everyone in the field who are making life less risky and livable for others during this challenging times. “Let us face hard situations with strength, collective positive role and solidarity as we need each other to tackle a common enemy, and we may need to realize that we survive together; no one can remain and survive alone. “Please stay safe and resilient. May Allah reward you for every good thing you do and save our countries and peoples,” he said in his personal message to his Malaysian friends who are battling against COVID-19 which was made available to Bernama. Alakhras gave a scenario on how his fellow Palestinians fought against the Zionist regime by remaining resilient while staying firm in their homeland, besides giving full support to those on the front line. He said Palestinians have been facing the aggressive Zionist colonialism for long and ‘we still survive despite many losses and damages caused by the invaders’. “This is what happens when the enemy spreads through lethal force and is not stopped by all those concerned, but, nevertheless, many of Palestinians are still around as they push hard and have the strong will and spirit to defeat the occupation. “The existence of our people in Palestine also comes with those heroes in the Palestinian resistance, doctors, nurses and all health staff, teachers and lectures, the police, and everyone commits to take part in our struggle,” he said. -- BERNAMA
