Kyrgyzstan adds 921 new COVID-19 cases, total at 31,247

Bishkek, July 24, 2020. /Kabar/. Over the past 24 hours, 921 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Kyrgyzstan, raising the total number of infections to 31, 247, Head of the Public Health Department of the republic's Health Ministry Ainura Akmatova told a briefing. Thus, 231 of these are cases of laboratory confirmed COVID-19, while 690 are clinical and epidemiologically confirmed cases of COVID-19. Among the new cases detected, 53 are medical workers' contamination, total now at 2,580, including 1,234 recoveries. Akmatova also reported 1,247 recoveries as of July 24. A total of 18,038 Kyrgyzstanis have recovered since the beginning of the pandemic. In the past day, 42 fatalities from coronavirus and community - acquired pneumonia were registered throughout the country, raising the total number of virus-related deaths to 1,211. Meanwhile, 12,385 citizens are receiving treatment at hospitals and inpatient centers.
