Kyrgyzstan sees decline in coronavirus and pneumonia cases

Bishkek, July 20, 2020. /Kabar/. In Kyrgyzstan, the number of reported cases of laboratory confirmed COVID-19 and unconfirmed but clinically indicated cases (community-acquired pneumonia) is decreasing, Deputy Health Minister of the republic Mademin Karatayev said a news briefing. On July 17, Kyrgyzstan combined statistics on laboratory confirmed coronavirus and community - acquired pneumonia after the World Health Organization (WHO) provided two codes: U07.1 (COVID-19 confirmed by laboratory testing) and U07.2 (clinical or epidemiological diagnosis of COVID-19). "Over the past 24 hours, there was a decline in mortality statistics. For example, two people died from COVID-19 and 32 from community-acquired pneumonia in the past day. That makes a total of 34," he said. Karatayev added the epidemiological situation is now under control.
