Malaysia, Pakistan Discuss Enhancing Trade And Tourism

NEW DELHI, April 19 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's newly-appointed high commissioner in Islamabad, Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, on Tuesday had a meeting with Pakistan's foreign secretary Asad Majeed Khan and discussed enhancing trade and tourism between the two countries.

Asad praised the Malaysian envoy's efforts "to further strengthen brotherly and fraternal ties", Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a tweet.

Their talks covered increasing investment and people-to-people contacts.

Azhar formally presented his credentials to the president of Pakistan last month.

Pakistan is Malaysia's third largest trading partner in South Asia, with trade between the two countries totalling US$1.8 billion in 2022.
