The Minister Of Environment And The Iranian Ambassador Discuss Promoting Joint Action
Baghdad / NINA /- The Minister of Environment, Nizar Amidi, discussed with the Iranian Ambassador, Muhammad Kazem Al Sadiq, strengthening the bonds of joint action.
A statement by the ministry stated: "The two sides discussed bilateral cooperation and the development of appropriate solutions in facing environmental challenges, and benefiting from Iranian experiences and expertise in the matter of afforestation and combating dust storms."
Amidi pointed out during the meeting to "the importance of joint relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen the bonds of joint cooperation at various levels, especially the environmental file, and the climatic challenges facing the region such as drought and desertification, stressing the importance of exchanging experiences in the field of increasing green spaces around cities and planting trees that coexist in desert environment.
The Minister of Environment welcomed the invitation he received from the Iranian ambassador to participate in an international conference in Tehran at the beginning of October related to dust storms and ways to find solutions to this phenomenon, while addressing an official invitation to the Iranian ambassador to participate in a regional conference in Iraq before the end of this year, and agree on a number of coordination, technical and negotiating visits before the date of its convening.
For his part, the Iranian ambassador praised the importance of continuing to hold these joint meetings, coordination visits and exchange of experiences, stressing full support for environmental projects in Iraq./ End
