More Than Two Billion Dollars Iran's Non-Oil Exports To Iraq Within 3 Months

 Baghdad / NINA /- The Iranian newspaper "Tehran Times", published in English, reported today, Saturday, that the Iranian customs administration announced the export of non-oil goods worth 2.3 billion dollars to Iraq within three months.

 

The Iranian report indicated, "Iraq was the second largest recipient of non-oil commodities during the first three months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-June 21)."

 

The report quoted an official in the Iranian Trade Promotion Organization as saying, "The value of Iran's exports to Iraq grew by 15% during the past Iranian year 1401 (ending on March 20)."

 

According to the Director General of the Office of the Iranian Trade Promotion Organization for West Asian Countries, Farzad Beltan, "The data issued by the Customs Administration show that Iran exported goods worth more than 10 billion dollars to its Iraqi neighbor during the previous year."

 

The Iranian official pointed out that "Iraq is considered one of Iran's strategic partners in the field of foreign trade, especially in the field of exports,". He gave estimates of the value of Iranian imports from Iraq at about $200 million last year."

 

The report indicated that "Iran and Iraq have set a target of $20 billion in annual trade.

 

The report quoted the head of the joint Iranian-Iraqi Chamber of Commerce, Yahya Al-Ishaq, as saying that businessmen and authorities in both countries are determined to achieve this goal.

 

According to Al-Ishaq, "Iran and Iraq agreed to develop relations and change the monetary and banking conditions so that the central banks of the two countries work to alleviate the current situation and solve problems, "noting that "the current administration of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi shows great interest in expanding and strengthening trade and economic relations with neighboring countries." /End
