National Sports Contest of Orphans in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- The 2023 national sports contest of orphans took place in Phyongsong City of South Phyongan Province, the DPRK, from June 4 to 9.

Among the audience were Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, Ri Song Bom, chairman of the South Phyongan Provincial People's Committee, officials concerned and orphans.

More than 400 children from orphans' schools across the country competed in football, basketball, volleyball, athletics and other events.

South Phyongan Province came first in total standings.

Cups and medals were awarded to the successful teams and players. -0-
