North Carolina Parliament hails MoI's efforts in implementing the Maan programme

Washington, July 4 (BNA): North Carolinian parliamentarians have hailed the efforts of the Interior Minister in promoting community security, especially in implementing the Maan (Together) programme against violence and addiction.

Tim Moore, Speaker of the North Carolina House and MP John Hardester valued the cooperation between the Ministry and the North Carolina University and D.A.R.E organisation to develop and evaluate the programme in intermediate and secondary schools to promote peaceful coexistence and anti-extremism.

The evaluation results indicate that Bahraini students have benefited from the curricula and programmes. They also show positive tolerance and coexistence skills and behaviours. Maan succeeded in stimulating the missions of D.A.R.E of spreading awareness programmes to protect youth worldwide from violence and hatred.

MP Hardester supervised the presentation of the evaluation findings organised for the ministry’s delegation led by Maan director Ali Ameeni. The US official briefed the attendees on the fruitful international cooperation between Bahrain and the United States to conduct new research to promote peaceful coexistence and anti-extremism.

He hailed the academic cooperation between the two sides to determine future challenges and protect students’ safety worldwide.
