Political Affairs Undersecretary meets US State Department Counselor

New York, Sept. 22 (BNA): Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, met today in New York the Counselor of the US Department of State, Derek Chollet, on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 78).
The Undersecretary for Political Affairs affirmed the interest of the Kingdom of Bahrain to consolidate its strategic partnership with the United States of America in light of the positive results of the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to Washington, and the signing of the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement in a way that promotes cooperation and friendship between the two countries, contributes to advancing the security and economic system of the region and consolidates regional and global peace and prosperity.
Counselor Chollet stressed his country's keenness to expand the prospects of cooperation, dialogue and strategic integration with the Kingdom in various fields, lauding its pivotal role as a security partner and a major non-NATO ally and its contributions to the establishment of peaceful coexistence among religions and cultures.
